The Moto X Fitness Newsletter is growing, and I want to encourage everyone to spread the word to your MX friends

I want to help all riders who are interested in improving their strength and fitness.


Last week I talked about consistency and discipline in your strength and conditioning program.  To continue on the
same subject, I have been asked how many times per week you should train.  A general answer would be 3-4 times
per week in addition to your riding practice.  If you can’t ride at least twice a week then your workouts become even
more important to keep you in good physical condition.

However, it may be difficult for some of you to keep this kind of schedule because of work, school, travel, etc.  You can
get by on 3 times per week without riding, but your workouts need to consist of functional exercises that work the
entire body intensely.  

In my training manual I outline several different workouts through a weekly schedule – ranging from 2-4 workouts per
week in addition to riding.  And, many of these workouts can be done in only 30-45 minutes.  When you utilize the
proper exercises with intensity, you don’t need a lot of additional training time.  

Again, I can’t stress enough the importance of training consistently with regular workouts on a weekly basis.  It
requires discipline, but that’s what
REAL ATHLETES need to be successful.  

Personally, I have exercised on a regular basis for over twenty years now, and I will continue to do so for as long as I
am physically able.  Everyone is capable of training sometime during each week, but you have to set aside time for

When you are disciplined in sticking to your work out schedule you will be ahead of most of your competition.  And,
your strength and conditioning will carry over to your riding, which is your ultimate goal.
